Our Company

Gypsum Agri-Cycle, Inc. was incorporated in 1998 for the purpose of preserving gypsum value. Thousands of tons of valuable gypsum are now being redirected from landfills into viable agri-business markets. Product captured before reaching landfill has increased every year since 1998 at the facility location in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Equipment has been designed and engineered to process up to 30 tons per hour for the specific purpose of producing viable end-product uses. Raw material is produced back into its' original valued form and is marketed for the agricultural industry.

Message from the founder:

Don Hess - Gypsum Agri-Cycle FounderGAC was started as a result of researching and discovering the tremendous value of gypsum to the earth’s soil and its uses in other by-products. After growing up on a farm in the heart of beautiful Lancaster County in Pennsylvania, at the age of 21, I began a career in drywall installation. While developing a thriving business and remaining in the industry for 14 yrs, I became increasingly bothered by the thousands of tons of waste generated from new wallboard that were being disposed of into overflowing landfill. Gypsum Agri-Cycle was founded for the purpose of preserving value.

In 1999, our facility opened for business. With a background in both agriculture and construction, I began the process of building and putting together equipment that can properly separate the paper from the gypsum. This process has been developed further each year to the point that our plant can process 25 tons per hour and can produce a quality gypsum texture and marketable product.
